This tour includes an exploration of Nootka Sound and Tahsis Inlet where sea otters are frequently spotted. Guests will cruise comfortably around Strange Island and the surrounding area between Maquinna Point and Birdwood in search of whale spouts. Your guide will touch on the region’s history while giving plenty of opportunities for photographs. The tour will finish with a visit to Yuquot, where guests can explore different points of interest such as the historic church, Sanford Williams’ carving workshop, and the fallen totem.

Trip Highlights

This longer tour will begin by cruising through Nootka Sound, up Tahsis Inlet, and then to Esperanza Inlet. The guide will take guests around Esperanza by boat, including Nutchatlitz Provincial Park, where whales are often spotted.

Afterwards, your guide will take you back down through Tahsis Inlet while discussing the rich history of Nootka Sound. This tour will finish with a visit to Yuquot, where guests can partake in history lesson from the on-site caretaker, as well as explore different points of interest such as the historic church, Sanford Williams’ carving workshop, and the fallen totem.

This trip will begin and end at Moutcha Bay Resort. Lunch is included.
